Healthcare Town Hall August 25th

On August 25th, a Healthcare Town Hall was held in downtown Charleston at the ILA Hall. The meeting which was sponsored by Organizing for America including a panel of local elected officals: State Rep. Wendal Gilliard, State Rep. David Mack and State Rep. Seth Whipple. State Rep. Ahnton Gunn, who is also the State Director of Organizing for America led the panel. Over 200 people from across the Lowcountry were in attendance. The forum featured questions and stories about healthcare and the need for reform. The assembled crowd overwhemingly favored pushing for the public option.

About the Healthcare Town Hall

We have to keep trying, communicating, calling, sending emails, and signing petitions. It's discouraging that we have so few SC leaders, however today at lunch we heard Congressman Jim Clyburn and Debbie Wasserman Schultz...they haven't given up and seem to be listening.
